Do we have to be the Gordon Ramsay of Social Media to survive in this industry??

( A Recipe for Industry Survival )

Let's talk about something that's been simmering in the back of my mind lately: the pressure to be the Gordon Ramsay of social media marketing.

You know what I mean – the expectation to whip up campaigns that are catchy and hot, they sizzle, and have audiences craving for more. But do we really need to channel our inner Ramsay and be the loudest in the room to survive in this industry?

Known for his fiery demeanour and unapologetic pursuit of perfection, let's take a moment to appreciate the culinary prowess of Gordon Ramsay.

He is bold, he's brash, and he's not afraid to tell it like it is. Sure, he might yell a bit (okay, maybe a lot), but underneath it all, there's a passion for perfection that drives him forward. And hey, isn't that a quality we can all aspire to?

So, what's the secret ingredient to surviving in this industry without turning into a social media version of Hell's Kitchen? It's all about finding your own recipe for success. (aka marketing and personality)

⎯ Maybe you're a master of meme culture, able to churn out viral content faster than you can say "grilled cheese." Or perhaps you excel at community management, creating spaces where your audience feels “at home”.

Whatever it is, own it, hone it, and use it to your advantage.

Find what works for you, sprinkle in a little creativity and a dash of determination, and before you know it, you'll be cooking up campaigns that leave your competitors green with envy.

So, what should you take with you from this blog post?

While Gordon Ramsay's excellence is admirable, surviving in the social media industry requires a unique blend of authenticity, creativity, consistency, and resilience.

Instead of striving to be the loudest presence on the IG feed, prioritize drawing attention to your work through your personality and creativity.

And from entrepreneur to entrepreneur… Be the Gordon of your own reality. I guess that’s the key to surviving as an entrepreneur in the first place.
